How to become EMOTIONALLY SECURE/safe so you don’t need to use FOOD to avoid your feelings
Many times, we start to eat for emotional reasons because we lack basic skills how to deal with them. Not only no one taught us how to deal with our emotions, we have been traumatized in our childhood to have and feel certain emotions. Maybe we were ignored, punished, embarrassed, ridiculed when we were expressing certain emotions.
So, feeling emotions was dangerous, so we decided that the best way to deal them, was to AVOID feeling them.
But, unfortunately, this backfires us, as we end up using substances to avoid feelings and develop addictions.
